The Rocky Mount Event Center (RMEC) has done it again! For the third year in a row, they’ve snagged the Reader’s Choice Award from ConventionSouth. This award is a big deal, spotlighting the top convention centers and CVBs in North Carolina. With only 31 winners in the whole state, it’s a huge honor. “For me, this recognition gives me an immense sense of pride because it simply tells a story that I am proud to witness each day, the story of our team’s dedication to the community that we serve,” said General Manager David L. Joyner. “They are loyal to the mission, and what drives them is because they want to make it happen. They wanted to prove a point and accomplish what more than half of our community, and many outside of our community, said was impossible.”

“Our non-sporting and catering & conventions business sector, which also includes catering off-site, is only going to continue to grow,” said Joyner. “We are about to have a record 2024 holiday season for catering, primarily due to large corporate bookings. Our team proudly stands in a new and exciting position, thanks to the achievements and truly hard work of the incredible team of event professionals and hustlers at their core, who I have the privilege to lead. And the most exciting part is that the best is yet to come.”
